Project Coordinator - UTC Overseas - Rochelle Park, NJ, USA

OVERVIEW

UTC Overseas, Inc. is seeking a motivated finance professional to join our dynamic global team based in Houston. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate, offering advancement and the potential to manage day-to-day financial operations. The role requires some travel as part of its responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare and publish timely monthly and quarterly financial statements
    • Prepare and execute investor communications, board meeting materials, etc.
    • Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner
    • Establish, implement, manage and monitor critical accounting and reporting policies, processes and associated metrics
    • Work closely with the management team, set standards and drive compliance across the entire organization.
    • Responsible for directing the organization’s accounting functions, providing controllership and accounting expertise for the organization
    • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and completely in accordance with GAAP and that the books are closed each Period on a timely basis
    • Support and back up the functional areas of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
    • Lead and coordinate the preparation and analysis of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
    • Propose recommendations that align with the company’s financial strategy
    • Assist in the Month End Financial reporting packages
    • Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc projects
    • Establish strong relationships with inter-departmental peers and be the “go-to” accounting source in the Company
    • Owns the global close process and related reporting, including revenue recognition, general ledger and consolidations
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Demonstrate thought leadership in how to run an accounting organization in a high-growth environment where changes are constant
    • Prepare financial information for Board of Directors
    • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
    • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Must have 5-8 years of experience
  • Experience with a fast-paced, always-on environment
  • International experience required
  • Technology or software experience highly preferred
  • Transportation and/or Logistics experience preferred
  • Work with complex global ERP systems
  • Experience driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems
  • Supervise full-cycle accounts payable, including reviewing and validating all disbursements
  • Lead revenue reporting processes, reconciliation, and controls
  • Support month-end and year-end close process including annual audit
  • Provides leadership in general accounting, capital asset, control processes, and cost accounting
  • Manage the audit process, acting as main point of contact for external auditors
  • Prior experience implementing new software and systems
  • Self-directed and able to meet deadlines with professional, quality results
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to prioritize, including handling multiple, concurrent demands and determining what issues warrant immediate attention
  • Passionate and persistent about operational excellence
  • Experience in all core responsibility areas: financial and management reporting, tax and budgets
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
