Project Coordinator - UTC Overseas - Rochelle Park, NJ, USA

OVERVIEW

UTC Overseas is a well-established logistics provider offering ocean, air, inland, and customs/compliance services. Headquartered in Houston with 39 offices worldwide, the Project Coordinator will be located in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, reporting to the Project Director. UTC has a long history of professional performance and a proven record of success, moving freight to every corner of the world. We provide unparalleled expertise in global logistics and supply chain management.

Our highly skilled people make the difference, and as our business grows, we are looking to expand our Rochelle Park, NJ team. This position is 40 hours a week in the office.

SCOPE

The Project Coordinator will arrange to transport containerized and over-size, out-of-gauge freight domestically and internationally. They will interface daily and maintain a good rapport with customers, UTC Overseas offices, ocean carriers, airlines, truckers, and railways.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate import and export shipments, moving freight to designated locations.
    • Establish freight costs and provide quotes to customers for inland, air, and ocean shipments.
    • Communicate with importers/exporters/suppliers and foreign agents/consignees via e-mail and telephone
    • Book cargo with ocean carriers, airlines, truckers, and railways.
    • Issue and distribute necessary shipping documents.
    • Advise clients and supervisor of any documentation discrepancies.
    • Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.
    • Daily follow-up on documentation discrepancies - troubleshooting, and communicating issues to all concerned parties.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor and manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • AS or BS degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of supply chain experience preferred
  • Familiarity with shipping documents a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface daily with clients
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet important deadlines.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Multilingual a plus
